Allied Electrical Engineers is a consulting engineering firm specializing in electrical, civil-structural, and mechanical (HVAC) engineering and design, construction support, start-up and commission, and field engineering for distribution and transmission substations, power generation, fuel cell power plants, solar photovoltaic systems, battery energy storage systems, and commercial, industrial, and transportation facilities. 


 Allied Electrical Engineers  is based and registered in the State of California (est. 2003). AEE holds in good standing, a valid SBE Small Business Enterprise with the LA County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Small Business Enterprise (Proprietary) and Small Local Business Enterprise SLB (Harbor) with the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Contract Administration.

  Allied Electrical Engineers specializes in delivering engineering services, including electrical, civil-structural, and mechanical (HVAC) engineering and design, construction support, start-up and commission, field engineering for distribution and transmission substations, power generation, fuel cell power plants, solar photovoltaic systems, battery energy storage systems, commercial, industrial and transportation facilities. 

Our engineers have extensive experience designing and engineering high voltage (230 kV and 500 kV) substations, electric power transmission lines, and distribution line projects (2,4 kV to 34,5 kV). 

Our licensed electrical engineering professionals are experienced in providing power system planning and analysis, short circuit calculations, load flow and arc flash analysis, protective device coordination study, appropriate system modeling, harmonic analysis, ground grid design using IEEE 80 and Finite Element Methods, utilizing CDEGS, ETAP, CAPE, ASPEN OneLiner, SKM Power Tools, EasyPower, GE-PSLF, AutoCAD, MicroStation, computerized HVAC load design, for various applications, including Rule 21, IEEE 1547, and WDAT for utility interconnection with distributed generation including photovoltaic and energy storage systems.

we have extensive experience in engineering, design, and construction administration of various projects. The following is a partial project list:

American Electric Power (AEP), 138/69 kV Transmission Lines and Substations, Indiana

 Engineering and detailed design, calculations and studies, procurement support, project production, engineering deliverables, relay setting calculations for different 138/69 kV AEP transmission lines and substations, construction support, resolving P&C issues, and relay settings updates for the Columbia, Adams, Pennvill, and Cleveland substations.  

LADWP, California. Sylmar Converter Station Filters Replacement

 Review construction documents, engineering studies and calculations, vendor’s equipment and materials submittals, and construction schedule for ABB 500 kV HVDC and 230 kV AC filters including replacement and upgrading of protection and control system, AC station service system, and DC system. Inspection of installation, testing and commissioning of transformers, shunt reactors, circuit breakers, capacitor banks and associated equipment.

MTA Division 9 Transportation Building

Full Electrical Engineering and Design for 45,000 square foot steel constructed 3-story New Transportation Building. Scope of work included power and lighting, backup generator and UPS systems, tele/data systems, fire alarm, audio visual and security systems. 

Green Building Council (USGBC) presented The New Transportation Building with its prestigious LEED Gold Rating.

Edwards Air Force, California. Survey/Design Electrical Substation 19 at South Base

 Engineering and detailed design of a new substation with automatic LTC transformer, 34.5 kV and 12.47 kV switchgear, capacitor bank, feeders, and capacitor bank relay protection using SEL-787, SEL-751 and SEL487V relays, SCADA and communication systems.   

Short circuit calculations, load flow analysis, protective device coordination study and arc flash analysis using ETAP PowerStation software. Protective device setting calculations.

GLENDALE WATER AND POWER – SUB-TRANSMISSION LINE PROTECTION UPGRADE PROJECTS

 Field investigation, engineering and detailed design, procurement, construction support, troubleshooting, start-up and commissioning for replacement of 34.5kV sub-transmission line protection relays with 

SEL-311L current differential relays at Howard Substation and Scholl Substation. 

RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES DISTRIBUTED GENERATION

Army Reserve Center, Los Alamitos, California

Utility Interconnection Agreement between Los Alamitos Army Reserve Center and Southern California Edison. Design services for the installation of the 375 kW PV System. Preparation of drawings, power study and other supporting documents per SCE’s Rule 21.

Washington Gas Energy Services (WGES), PV and Fuel Cells Projects, Arizona, Georgia, California

Design, construct and implement various PV systems and fuel cell power plants producing mega-watts of power generation in industrial, government and campus facilities. Commissioned into service DC photovoltaic systems consisting of solar panels, inverters, AC combiner, revenue meters, main switchboards and ATS inter-connecting to power  Utilities.

Bloom Energy Fuel Cells Projects, San Francisco, San Jose and Los Angeles

Electrical Engineering and design, construction  support, start-up and commissioning of Bloom Energy solid oxide fuel cells generation of mega-watts

of power in various industrial facilities at Verizon, Pixar and Life Technologies plants. 

California State University Northridge PV Project

 Installation of the 2,832 solar panels in the Student Recreation Center and the Boeing site with the generated peak power capacity of 467 kW.
